Motherwell legend Joe Wark has become the first person to complete a new initiative as he battles dementia.
The former left-back looked back on his 16 years at Fir Park to make a memory book as part of the ‘Remember Well’ football memories project.
Launched last year by North Lanarkshire Council in association with Motherwell Football Club, NHS Lanarkshire and Alzheimer’s Scotland, the project uses old football pictures and memorabilia to help people trigger memories.
Joe was back at Fir Park last week to show his book to Councillor Sam Love, convener of housing and social work services and Central Scotland list MSP Clare Adamson.
Councillor Love said: “Joe is a true gentleman with a terrific sense of humour and his book is a fascinating insight into his football story.”
