The annual Billy Steele Memorial Parade will take place in Bellshill on Saturday.

Billy, a member of Mossend True Blues, died in January 2012 at the age of 54 after contracting meningitis.

Following his death Billy’s family and friends decided they wanted to do something by way of remembering him and over the pasts few years the Billy Steele Memorial Committee has organised various events to raise money for charity.

The parade on Saturday will leave Unthank Road at noon and walk to Footfield Park and back.

After the parade there will be a get together in the Imperial Social Club on Main Street from 2-6pm.

All are welcome to go along and join family and friends to remember Billy.

Admission is a donation on the door and all proceeds will go to a charity of Billy’s family’s choice.
