LANARKSHIRE branches of a leading funeralcare provider are putting up memorial Christmas trees to help local people remember their loved ones during the festive season.
The Co-op Funeralcare across Lanarkshire are inviting people to visit the funeral home and decorate the tree with cards in memory of those close to them who have died.
If they wish, they may also leave a small donation to charity.
David Eagle, of Co-op Funeralcare, said: “This is the eighth year we have offered a memorial tree in honour of those who have died, as it has always proved to be a great help for relatives and friends.
“We know that Christmas and New Year, in particular, is a time when people look back and remember those they’ve lost.
“We hope our memorial Christmas tree will again benefit the families concerned at this difficult time.”
The funeral homes are open from 9am to 3.30pm and people will be able to leave memorial cards on the tree right up until Friday, December 23.
