A DEDICATED volunteer group, which has been serving the community for almost 60 years, has had to call it a day after failing to attract new members.
The Meals on Wheels service was provided throughout North Lanarkshire by the group since 1953 until the end of last year.
Delivering meals to elderly residents in their homes, the volunteers provided an efficient and much-loved service over the decades.
Their role in local communities has now been picked up by the WRVS (Women’s Royal Voluntary Service).
