Looking for a new pet? Shell out on one like little Chris!

TERR-IFIC . . . Chris.
TERR-IFIC . . . Chris.

EVERY week the Times & Speaker teams up with the Scottish SPCA in a bid to rehome a pet.

And this week it is the turn of terrapin Chris, who is currently staying at the charity’s Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Hamilton.

Centre manager Karen Russell said: “Chris is one of seven terrapins currently waiting for a new home at our centre.

“He came into the charity’s care when his owner could no longer look after him. Terrapins like Chris can live for more than 30 years so taking one on is a big commitment.

“Chris loves swimming around in his tank and sun bathing on his rocks under his UV lamp. He enjoys eating regular terrapin food and some leafy veg.”

If you can offer Chris - or any of the terrapins - a loving home, please call the SSPCA animal helpline 03000 999 999, quoting ref Motherwell Times.

The Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre, on Bothwell Road, is open Monday to Sunday, 10am until 4pm.
