If you go down to the War Office on Saturday, you’re in for a big surprise... for the Motherwell pub is hosting a BEAR-B-Q fundraiser.
The bar, on Milton Street, will hold the event from 2pm in a bid to raise money for Help for Heroes.
As well as a disco and various fundraising activities, the fate of Motherwell man Peter Ferguson’s hair will be decided.
Peter has become renowned in the area for his support of army-related charities since his son, Guardsman Stephen Ferguson, passed away in 2007 after sustaining injuries in a non-battle incident in Basra.
Peter had his hair dyed in Help for Heroes colours at the weekend and, come Saturday, it will be decided if he has to keep it coloured longer or shave the whole lot off.
He said: “There’s two groups - Rangers fans who want me to keep it like this for longer and the rest who want me to shave it all off and go completely baldy! Whoever donates the most, wins.”
