A CHARITY shop in Tannochside is appealing for more volunteers as it plans to extend its product range to meet community demand.

The Barnardo’s shop in Old Edinburgh Road currently caters for new mothers and young children only but, in response to community demand, is now planning to stock other items, including clothing and accessories for all ages, as well as literature, videos and gift items.

As the shop expands it will require new stock and is inviting donations from local people - with the spring cleaning season ahead, it’s an ideal time to clear out clutter.

But the shop also needs new volunteers able to commit a few hours each week to apply to fill the positions.

Shop manager Teresa Robertson said: “The role is ideal for students looking for work experience, parents who like to engage with their local community and those who are now retired from full-time work but have time and experience that could be put to good use.

“The work is varied, but tasks include sorting and pricing stock, preparing window displays or serving customers.”

Anyone interested in volunteering at the shop should contact Teresa or assistant Marie Gilmour on 01698 813510 for more information.
