Police calls preview

Local officers are reminding shoppers to be vigilant after a pensioner had her purse stolen.

The 72-year-old was in B&M Bargains on Brandon Parade, Motherwell, around 1.30pm on Monday when her purse was taken from her handbag.

The male suspect is described as being 30, slim and wearing a grey woolly hat, beige jacket and blue jeans.

Police are appealing for help in tracing a man who attacked a member of staff after being removed from a nightclub.

The man was put out Platform 3 on Hamilton Road around 2.20am on Sunday, but returned a short time later and assaulted a male member of staff, leaving him with injuries to his face and head.

The suspect is described as being white, 5’6” / 5’7”, of medium build with dark brown hair. He was wearing a dark coloured T-shirt and a light grey hooded top.
