Police calls preview

A MAN was threatened with a blade and punched during an unprovoked attack at the Sandy Park, Bellshill, around 10pm last Tuesday night.

The 56-year-old was walking a dog in the park, at the back of Warnock Crescent, when he was approached by the culprit.

An altercation ensued which resulted in the victim being threatened with the weapon before being punched.

The suspect - described as being white, 5’10”, of stocky build, and wearing a black beanie hat, a black padded jacket with silver buttons and black trousers - ran off in the direction of Thorndean Crescent.

POLICE are investigating the theft of lead from the roof of the Heatherpark residential home on Cleland Road, Wishaw.

The incident took place sometime between 4pm on Thursday and 8am the following day.
