SIGNIFICANT damage was caused after lead was stolen from the roof of Motherwell Cathedral, Coursington Road, sometime between December 21 and 27.

The church building has been targeted by lead thieves several times over the past year.

WITNESSES are being sought after two Motherwell churches were targeted by vandals over the festive period.

Windows at Motherwell South Church were damaged between the Christmas Day service and 10am on Thursday.

A similar incident also occurred at St Brendan’s Church between noon on Boxing Day and 9am on Thursday.
