Motherwell recruitment firm in liquidation
BLAIR Nimmo of KPMG LLP has been appointed provisional liquidator of Spectrum Social Network Limited.
The company, which traded as Spectrum Personnel, was formed in 2000 and was engaged in the recruitment and supply of temporary and contract workers, primarily, to the engineering and logistics sectors.
At the time of the appointment, Spectrum Personnel employed approximately 200 people, comprised of 30 direct employees and 170 contractors, out of its two offices in Merry Street, Motherwell, and Gateshead.
On the appointment of the Provisional Liquidator the company ceased trading with all 200 employees being made redundant.
Mr Nimmo said: “Despite its strong reputation as a supplier of temporary workers for the engineering and logistics sectors, Spectrum Social Network Ltd has experienced challenging trading conditions in recent times.
“Unfortunately, due to those conditions it is no longer viable to trade the business as a going concern and all 200 staff have been made redundant with immediate effect.”
Any employees or contractors who believe they hold a claim for unpaid sums are asked to contact Lynn Paterson at KPMG on 0141 300 5574.
If you have been affected by the collapse of Spectrum Personnel e-mail the Times & Speaker or call 01698 242553.
