Man dies after Motherwell crash

A 35-year-old man has died following a road crash in Muirhouse.

The man was driving a blue Subaru Impreza east on Shields Road around 5.25pm on Thursday when it crossed the central reservation and collided with a blue Renault Scenic travelling in the opposite direction.

He was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital where he died a short time later.

The 54-year-old male driver of the Renault Scenic was also taken to Wishaw General but was released after treatment.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Any witnesses to the crash are urged to call PC Dougie Bryson at the Divisional Road Policing Unit on 01698 483000.
