Have your say on new NL college proposal

MOPTHERWELL and Cumbernauld Colleges have launched a formal consultation on their plans to merge, with Coatbridge now agreeing to come on board.

The three colleges, which have a combined student body of over 20,000, began merger talks last month with plans for the new institution to be in place for August.

The consultation runs until March 22 and includes a series of staff, student and stakeholder events across the three colleges.

The new institution is planned to combat funding cuts from the Scottish Government, while still offering the same level of opportunities

The boards of the three colleges welcome views on all aspects of the proposal to help inform the Scottish Government as it considers approval of the merger and shaping the structure of the new college.
