First learning event planned
NORTH Lanarkshire Community Planning Partnership (NLCPP) holds its first learning event at Maxim Business Centre in Eurocentral tomorrow (Tuesday).
This comes after NLCPP recently participated in the first learning session of the Scottish Government’s Early Years Collaborative (EYC) national event.
The EYC has three aims —
To ensure that women experience positive pregnancies which result in the birth of more healthy babies, targeting a 15 per cent reduction in the rates of still births (4.9 per 1,000 births in 2010 to 4.3 per 1,000 births in 2015) and infant mortality (3.7 per 1,000 live births in 2010 to 3.1 per 1,000 live births in 2015).
The ensure that 85 per cent of all children within each CPP have reached all the expected developmental milestones at the time of the child’s 27-30 month health review, by the end of 2016.
To ensure 90 per cent of all children within each CPP have reached all the of the expected developmental milestones at the time the child starts primary school, by the end of 2017.
Scotland’s chief medical officer Sir Harry Burns will be present at the Maxim event to give the keynote address.
Participants will be able to develop their understanding of the EYC and will use medical models to consider how to reach the desired aims.
NLCPP early years champion Jane Liddell said: “This collaborative will be a collective approach building on existing best practice within early years services and further supporting the journey of improvement.”
