Former British light-welterweight champion Barry Morrison believes Commonwealth Games boxing medallists Charlie Flynn and Reece McFadden have ‘the world at their feet’ after their exploits in Glasgow.
Newarthill’s Flynn (20) won the lightweight gold while Motherwell teenager McFadden took bronze in the flyweight division.
Now both are expected to turn their attention to the 2016 Olympics and Morrison, like McFadden a member of Forgewood ABC, reckons they will be stars one day in the professional arena.
Morrison said: “I see big things for them - and not just British titles. These boys have the world at their feet.”
Morrison added that the late Archie McKay, who coached him and McFadden, would have been very proud of the 19-year-old’s medal achievement.
