Death of health board chairman

NHS LANARKSHIRE chairman Ken Corsar has died suddenly at the age of 65.

Ken, who lived in Strathaven, had a long and distinguished career in education including seven years as education director at Glasgow City Council before becoming Scottish director of the National Deaf Children Society.

He joined the board of NHS Lanarkshire as a non-executive director in 2003 and was appointed chairman in 2005, a position he held until his death.

NHS Lanarkshire chief executive Tim Davison said: “All the staff within NHS Lanarkshire are shocked and saddened.

“Ken was as well liked as he was respected. He will be a huge loss locally in Lanarkshire but also throughout the NHS in Scotland where his influence and passion for the NHS will be sorely missed.”
