A club promoter from Motherwell told this week of the moment he was stabbed and badly injured on the holiday island of Ibiza.
Former Dalziel High School pupil Grant Sommerville needed emergency surgery for a collapsed lung and damaged spleen.
As he recovered from the eight-hour operation, the 22-year-old told the Times & Speaker how he nearly died when a taxi driver attacked him after a row over a fare.
Despite his ordeal, Grant has vowed to go back to the Mediterranean dance mecca to further his career.
Grant, who might have to return to Ibiza for the taxi driver’s trial, insisted he hasn’t been put off the island. He said: “I want to work in big clubs and Ibiza is at the highest level. I’ve been there for the last four summers. This time I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
