Brassed off
TARGET . . . the Brass Button
A MASKED man tried to rob a Motherwell pub - and then forced an unwitting driver outside into helping him make his escape.
The drama unfolded at the Brass Button on Logans Road around 7.45pm on Sunday.
Around a dozen customers were enjoying a quiet drink when the man burst into the pub armed with a blunt weapon.
He demanded cash from a barmaid, but his attempts were thwarted as customers came to the woman’s aid.
The would-be thief - who could only be described as being 5’10” - then left and jumped into a Volkswagon Bora, which happened to be parked outside.
He threatened the driver and made him drive a short distance away from the pub before fleeing on foot.
