Strathclyde Park is set to host a ‘spectacular celebration’ to bring North Lanarkshire’s day hosting the Queen’s Baton Relay to an end.
The area will host the baton on Monday, June 23 ahead of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Organisers have released details of the route this week, and Provost Jim Robertson has called on local residents to get on board and show their support for baton bearers as they make their way through the area.
He said: “The Queen’s Baton Relay will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate communities and friendship in North Lanarkshire and across the Commonwealth.
“For the local people who will carry the baton it will be a very proud day and we want to recognise their achievements and cheer them on.”
