A BELLSHILL-based charity is celebrating after raising £2,500 by holding a ladies’ day.

Scotia Aid - Sierra Leone held the event at the Dalziel Park Hotel, Motherwell, to raise funds and awareness for projects in West Africa.

The money raised will be going towards helping the Wellington Progressive School and supporting the build of Scotia Aid High School.

The day featured a variety of entertainment including a fashion show, beauty displays, an afternoon tea and cocktails.

Supporters can follow how the charity’s money is being spent by visiting www.scotiaaid-sierraleone.org.uk and www.facebook.com/scotiaaidsierraleone, or through Twitter @ScotiaAidSierra.
