A MOTHERWELL mum and her son have appeared in a calendar aimed at promoting breastfeeding.
Kirsty Robertson and son Frankie are among a number of families from across the county who put themselves forward to appear in the Lanarkshire Breastfeeding Initiative’s (LBI) 2012 calendar.
Each month features a different mum and her child and the LBI hopes the calendar will normalise breastfeeding, encourage mums to breastfeed and promote the benefits of it.
The calendar was launched at a special event at Netherton Community Centre.
Jacqueline Smith, from NHS Lanarkshire’s Community Mothers Programme and secretary of the LBI, said: “It was a very exciting venture for all the women involved and well worth the effort as we’re all delighted with the result.
“The response and interest in the calendar we’ve had has been fantastic and we hope it helps spread the message that breastfeeding provides the best possible start for babies and the mums.”
