EMERGENCY services across the Strathclyde region have joined forces to launch a festive safety campaign.

And the message from the fire, police and NHS is, “This Christmas KEEP SAFE”.

The campaign launched at the Strathclyde Fire and Rescue headquarters on Bothwell Road, Hamilton, sees fire, police and NHS issuing joint public safety information via leaflets, posters and public TV displays.

At the launch each agency had the opportunity to provide an input to demonstrate the key messages of their Christmas campaign.

Strathclyde Police’s Hamilton community inspector, Gillian Scott talked through the risks of keeping valuables/Christmas shopping on display in your car and offered safety advice.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue unveiled their television adverts which are currently airing on STV.

While the NHS provided a demonstration of beer goggles and alcohol units, as well as information highlighting the dangers of alcohol and drinking responsibly.
