Jobs boost with factory expansion

MORE than 50 jobs are to be created with the expansion of the Enemetric factory in Netherton.

The low carbon construction specialist has acquired an eight hectare industrial plot, adjacent to its current site on Netherton Road, as part of a £1 million investment.

The new site will be transformed into a manufacturing plant, housing the company’s patented volumetric building and honeycomb operations.

The factory will provide fast and cost effective quality housing for the education, residential and leisure market sectors.

The building will be fitted with five new volumetric jigs, with this expansion creating 40 jobs.

The honeycomb insulation manufacturing line, which previously operated in Italy, will create a further 10 new jobs, while a number of apprentices will also be hired.

An area of office space will also be used to showcase Enemetric’s array of environmentally-friendly technologies and modern methods of construction.

Steve Kelly, construction director at Enemetric, said: “We are delighted to have completed this acquisition, which will enable us to further cement our reputation as construction industry leaders.”

The new Enemetric factory, formerly owned by Bone Steel, is expected to be operational by the end of this month, once extensive refurbishments are complete.
