MEMBERS of the Motherwell-based Jazzart College of Performing Arts staged the country’s first flash mob musical in Edinburgh recently.

The group surprised passers-by by bursting into a performance of Broadway Mania as part of the 2012 Olympic festival.

Footage of the performance will be seen at the Olympic Park during the London games and will be included in a BBC 4 art series shown later in the year.

Students are now preparing for a production of The Kist, at Oran Mor in Glasgow, and will be taking part in an ‘arts triathlon’ from August 7 to 11 in their new Motherwell studios on Draffen Street.
