Home is sweet for Bothwell Scouts

MEMBERS of the 2nd Bothwell Scouts Group have been given the perfect early Christmas present - the completion of their newly revamped hall.

And they will celebrate the refurbishment with a special Christmas community open evening to show off their new-look home in Clyde Avenue on Monday.

The £57,000 renovation was made possible thanks to generous grants from supporting businesses and group fundraising.

The hall, based in the heart of Bothwell, was built in 1970 and over the past 42 years has been home to 2nd Bothwell Scouts and the hundreds of scouts and leaders who joined the organisation

REPAIR.

But after decades of use the hall was badly in need of repair and renovation if it were to remain the group’s base.

However over the past six months it hall has undergone a complete transformation and is now a perfect home for the group and the 100 young people, volunteers and parents who use the hall each week.

Monday’s open evening, to help celebrate the success the group has had over the years and thank those whose generosity made the renovation possible, will begin at 6.30pm.
