Motherwell couple Sheena and Bruce MacGowan travelled in style as the marked their golden wedding anniversary.

A limousine picked them up from their home in Glen Tower to take them to the Moorings Hotel for a celebration, and their travelling spirit with an Urquhart.

Sheena and Bruce met as she was friends with his sister and were married at St Margaret’s Church Hall on September 7, 1963.

He worked as a storeman at Anderson Boyes, while she worked in various branches of the Co-op including Carfin and Craigneuk.

They have a daughter Janette and son Neil, who was unable to attend the celebrations as he lives in Dubai, as well as four grandchildren.
