NETHERTON couple Frank and Jeanette Reford have been celebrating their golden wedding.

They met while both were working at Clyde Alloys, Frank in the sales office and Janette in the purchasing department, and were married at Dalziel High Church on March 23, 1962.

The couple started married life in Frank’s home town of Shotts before moving to Motherwell, where Jeanette is from, two years later and then on to Netherton.

Frank and Jeanette have two children, Gordon and Susan, and two grandchildren and remain active as members of Lanarkshire Indoor Bowling Club as well as enjoying old-time ceilidh dancing. They celebrated their anniversary at the Avonbridge Hotel, Hamilton.
