RSPB Scotland, North Lanarkshire Council and Central Scotland Green Network are teaming up tomorrow (Saturday) for B in the Park.
This fun event at Baron’s Haugh and the Dalzell Estate is a great opportunity for all ages to lend nature a hand on their doorstep.
You could help out sowing wildflower seeds, pulling up invasive plants or building a bird box. There will also be guided walks and bug hunts, offering a chance to explore the two nature reserves.
Laura McCrorie, biodiversity officer for North Lanarkshire Council, said: “If you live around Motherwell, you are very lucky to have some fantastic wildlife near you.
“Coming along to B in the Park is a great way of doing something positive for these natural wonders at Baron’s Haugh and Dalzell Estate.
“You don’t need to have any experience, we will provide tools, all you need to do is come along and get stuck in and hopefully come back in years to come and admire the benefits of your work.”
Budding conservationists can turn up any time from 10am-2pm and meet in the Baron’s Haugh car park at the end of Manse Road.
Under 16s are welcome, but should be accompanied by an adult, and everyone should wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather.
