Get creative for the New Year with new hobby

IT'S a new year which is why North Lanarkshire Council is encouraging people to get creative.

A new Arts in Action programme has been launched by the local authority's learning and leisure services team and there is classes to suit everyone, meaning you really can keep that resolution to take up a new hobby.

The programme kicks off the week beginning January 10 and runs to April.

If you fancy yourself as the next Charles Dickens, Jane Austen or J. K. Rowling, then why not try the creative writing classes in Motherwell Heritage Centre and Bellshill Cultural Centre which are open to anyone aged 16 and over.

A new dance class for those aged 50 and above is also starting as part of the programme in Netherton Community Centre Wishaw and Bellshill Culrural Centre hosts Art Attack for children over seven.
