MOTHERWELL and Bellshill residents are being urged to consider fostering or adopting.
Barnardo’s have launched a UK-wide Fostering and Adoption recruitment drive and is calling on county residents to get involved.
Whilst there is considerable focus on placing babies and younger children, the charity would also like to highlight the needs of older children and those with complex needs.
Brian Emmerson, Children’s Service manager at Barnardo’s Scotland Fostering Glasgow, said: “Fostering or caring for a child with complex needs can be challenging, the same as any job, but this is more than a job – it’s a vocation that’s very worthwhile and rewarding.”
Barnardo’s Scotland Adoption Placement Service would also like to hear from anyone considering adoption.
The service works across Scotland with many families approved as adoptive parents and in the process of being linked with children, or are currently going through the assessment process.
For those looking to find out more about fostering or adopting, Glasgow Fostering service is holding an information evening on Wednesday, February 6, at 6.30pm at Barnardo’s Scotland, Festival Business Centre, Unit G, 150 Brand Street, Glasgow.
The meeting will last for around two hours, to book a place phone 0141 4273690.
