THREE men have been cleared of pretending to be police officers and trying to force their way into Bellshill flats.
Alan Lynn (29), Christopher Stevenson (24) and Joseph Buchanan (23), all prisoners, were accused of threatening behaviour at a common close in Turquoise Terrace on March 22.
But Lynn and Stevenson, represented by solicitors Jim O’Dowd and Alan Gravelle, had their not guilty pleas accepted at Hamilton Sheriff Court.
Buchanan admitted kicking and punching a door and smashing a window, and also breaking a bail curfew.
Defence agent Nicky Matteo said his client had been jailed for two years for assault at the same court in July.
Sheriff Vincent Smith jailed Buchanan for 10 months to take effect immediately so he won’t have any extra time to serve in prison.
