Motherwell woman Elizabeth Pashley says she had a ‘lovely time’ as she celebrated turning 100.

Born in Patrick she met George at a gospel meeting, they were married in 1938 and moved to Motherwell, George’s home town, setting up home in Muir Street and becoming members of the Congregational Church.

Elizabeth worked in the Anderson & Robertson silk factory until she became mum to Ronnie, George, (the late) Fay and Anna and has since become a gran and a great-gran.

Now resident in Parksprings Care Home, Elizabeth’s family held a party on her birthday (September 25th) and the next day North Lanarkshire provost Jim Robertson and deputy lieutenant John Brown joined residents for another celebration.
