Ravenscraig Ltd has welcomed North Lanarkshire Council’s proposal to create a new £36 million high school campus at Ravenscraig.

The council is currently holding a consultation to amalgamate Taylor High in New Stevenston and Our Lady’s High in Motherwell and move the new school to Ravenscraig along with Bothwellpark ASN High.

Ravenscraig Ltd, a joint venture company comprising Wilson Bowden Developments, Tata Steel and Scottish Enterprise, has been working closely with the council on the plans for the new shared campus.

Wilson Bowden Developments managing director Nick Richardson said: “It is extremely encouraging to see North Lanarkshire Council share our vision of a thriving new community at Ravenscraig.

“The potential of a £36 million new campus is an endorsement of the regeneration masterplan we have for Ravenscraig and we look forward to continuing negotiations with the council over the location and design of the shared campus.

“Now the council has taken this important step to consult on their plans, we look forward to providing all the support we can to realise this new chapter in the Ravenscraig story.”

Public meetings take place in Our Lady’s High on Monday, Taylor High on Tuesday and Bothwellpark High next Thursday (March 27), all at 7pm.
