A new service for lone parents in North Motherwell is being launched later this month.

Action: Lone Parents is holding a fun day, on Thursday, October 17, in North Motherwell Church, from 11am–3pm, with lots of activities for parents and children.

Project assistant Mags Currie said: “Action: Lone Parents is a new project funded by the Big Lottery which aims to engage with lone parents to help them improve their employability prospects through access to a personal development programme, training and/or access to education.

“North Lanarkshire is an area which has been identified as having a high level of lone parents, both male and female, and we are here to offer them whatever support we can in order for them to make the most of themselves and make life a little easier.”

Parents seeking advice can also access project workers in the Pat Cullinan Centre every Monday-Thursday from 10am-2pm and on Fridays from 10am-noon.
