ANGRY residents in a Bellshill estate have called on North Lanarkshire Council to take action to stop users of the Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex parking outside their homes.
Residents of Wilson Court and other streets near the centre say they are fed up not being able to leave their vehicles in their own streets, or access their own driveways, because spaces are taken up by centre users.
And they fear the problem is likely to get worse following last week’s reopening of the centre’s swimming pool following a £760,000 refurbishment.
One resident, Karen Cochrane, said: “It is rewarding and encouraging to see our local sports centre attracting patrons, especially youngsters competing in swimming competitions.
“But upon finishing my work around 6pm I find it extremely difficult to gain access to the estate and often find cars parked across my driveway, as do my neighbours.”
