A DISABLED Motherwell man fears he will be trapped in his own home this winter thanks to a step he has been waiting on North Lanarkshire Council to remove since March.

Duncan Davidson requested that a step be taken away from his front door in Calder Tower when he was given a mobility scooter as a gift from a friend.

The scooter would have made a huge difference to the 65-year-old’s life but the step at his front door means he cannot get the vehicle in and out of his home.

North Lanarkshire Council, however, say that requesting this type of action is a high priority service and therefore placed Mr Davidson on a waiting list.

Now Mr Davidson is concerned that if the step in not removed soon, he will be trapped in his home if the weather is as bad as it was last winter.
