Campaigners fighting to save Viewpark Glen and the ajoining Douglas Support Estate from development welcomed Archaeology Scotland representatives to an information event at Burnhead Community Centre on Friday.

The meeting was organised by Viewpark Conservation Group to explain plans for archaeological digs in the area. It’s thought a Roman road passed through the glen and there are also links to the Battle of Bothwell Bridge.
