Members of a boys only dance group in Viewpark are showing who’s boss after passing prestigious exams
Viewpark’s Boys Only Street Squad is celebrating its recent success at the prestigious Performance Award Medal for Street Dance.
The BOSS, as it is known, is part of the Shirley Ann McLean School of Dance which is based ay Burnhead Parish Church in Viewpark.
And school principal Shirley Ann said she was delighted at the success of group members Ciaran Grogan, Fraser McGill, Callum Barbour and Ryan Welsh in gaining their certificates and medals.
She said: “We are incredibly proud of all of our pupils who have sat exams this year and our magnificent 100 per cent pass rate continues.
“We are especially proud of our boys as they are the first pupils in our school to sit the prestigious Performance Award Medal for Street dance.”
The class is coached by qualified street dance teacher Jennifer Lickerish who added: “I am so proud of my boys. They have worked so hard to achieve success.
“We are working towards our show which will be performed along with the girls in June. It is all very exciting.”
The class is open to boys of Primary 3 age and over and classes take place on Mondays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm in Burnhead Church hall.

The school has also achieved success among its staff with teacher Gillian Docherty achieving ‘Honours’ for her Associate Modern teaching exam and Alana O’Neill achieving “Highly Commended” in the Intermediate Street Dance Executant.
