Man injured after smoke bomb thrown

A Dundee United fan has admitted throwing a smoke bomb which injured another man in the crowd at Motherwell’s Fir Park.

Ross Grant (17), of Dundee, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court where he admitted a charge of culpable and reckless conduct and one of illegal possession of a smoke bomb.

The missile struck Ross Miller on the face, causing a slight injury, the court heard.

It happened during the league game on November 29 which United won 2-1.

Sentence on Grant was deferred until next month and Sheriff Thomas Millar banned him from attending any football matches meantime.
