Drug dealers jailed after raids in Motherwell and Coatbridge

Two men, one from Motherwell, have been jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh after pleading guilty to supplying drugs.

Local man Fraser Moss (39) was sentenced to 18 months, while Robert Shepherd, also 39, from Glasgow was jailed for six years.

Shepherd was arrested after police raided a house in Southfield Crescent, Coatbridge, under warrant, and found cocaine said to be worth around £40,000,

Then a few weeks later, on May 20 last year, Moss was arrested when police found heroin after stopping a car in Motherwell’s Jerviston Street.

Police also found a five figure sum of cash at a Jerviston Street address, and at an address in Langa Street, Glasgow.

Detective Inspector Douglas Telfer, Specialist Crime Division, said: “I hope the sentence provided to Shepherd and Moss serves as a warning to those involved in drug dealing and associated criminality.

“These individuals have no regard for the harm they cause to communities as their main motivator was making money from their illicit activities.

“Targeting those involved in drugs remains a priority for Police Scotland. People can be assured that we will do everything in our power to rid our communities of drugs.”
