AN accident outside Bothwell Primary School has led to a new call for parents to think about where they park when they drop off and pick up their children.

The school’s Parent Council is worried that some people guilty of inconsiderate parking won’t take the issue seriously until a child is hurt.

The accident happened close to the main pupils’ entrance in Blantyre Road. It involved a car emerging from the driveway of a nearby house and the vehicle of a parent who had arrived to pick up a child from school at 3pm. No one was injured.

Parent Council chairman Lynn Hendry, who witnessed the crash, said it would have been avoided had the parent not chosen to park at an awkward angle so close to the school entrance.
