AN Uddingston couple are set to pull on their walking boots for a leading children’s charity next month to take part in a 17-mile sponsored hiking challenge.

Robert and Louise Waddell will be trekking for the NSPCC on September 4 as part of its Hike Against Cruelty to Kids (HACK) campaign, which aims to bring an end to child cruelty.

The walking fundraisers will tackle Pitlochry for their challenge taking in the area’s history - ancient mysterious monuments, fine old distilleries, historic settlement towns and the stunning Loch a’ Choire.

It is the first time that a HACK event has been held by the charity in Scotland.
