People living in Birkenshaw are being encouraged to attend a meeting regarding the development of Birkenshaw Sports Barn at the venue on Monday (October 19) at 6pm.
Cllr Bob Burrows, who has championed the development of the barn and surrounding areas, said: “This meeting is on the back of a survey and public consultation about how to develop the sports barn.
“Local residents identified a number of priorities including improving the existing football pitches, developing the play area and creating a dedicated dog walking area.
“We’re hoping to form a steering group to help realise these priorities. If you are
interested in this or any other aspect of the project please come along or search for ‘Be Active in Birkenshaw ‘on Facebook.”
The Facebook page was set up to allow people in the area to share information on activities, events and services.
A survey of local households and schools in the area was carried out earlier in the year and received 147 responses with ideas for improving the park behind Aitkenhead Primary School next to the sports barn.
