THE Teenage Cancer Trust has received a cash injection of £8,500 thanks to the fundraising efforts of staff and students at Motherwell College.

A special charity dinner and auction as well as several other fundraising events throughout the college helped raise the funds.

The college’s hospitality and professional cookery department produced a four-course meal for 140 guests at the dinner which was hosted by Bill Barclay and Forbes Gauld. Guests enjoyed cocktails and canapés on arrival, with live music provided by students.

Following dinner, guests were invited to dig deep into their pockets to bid for a range of auction prizes donated by local and national businesses including a flying lesson, a firefighter day with Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and a round of golf at Gleneagles with Lynn Kenny.
