GENEROUS staff at Network Rail’s signalling centre in Motherwell have made a bumper Christmas donation to a very good cause.

The team have been busy raising cash to boost a festive party held for sick children at Fir Park stadium. The event is organised every year by their Network Rail colleague Les Hoey, with children from all over Lanarkshire and the west of Scotland due to attend on Sunday (December 9).

Les’s colleagues are well aware of his work, which also includes organising days out and special celebrity meet and greet events for children receiving treatment at Yorkhill Hospital.

As well as making the donation, which included computer games and One Direction dolls, the group gave Les a cheque for £230 to go towards the cost of running the event.
