EVERY week, Lanarkshire’s top clairvoyant Colette shares her vision on readers’ questions in the Times & Speaker.
Here’s this week’s top question and answer. For the full column, see the April 4 edition of the Times & Speaker.
Q: I moved away from Motherwell two years ago and haven’t settled in my new home.
I haven’t been able to make friends and miss my mum.
My husband’s job is here and we have a lovely home and it’s such a nice location, but I am lonely and miss things back home.
I have just found out I am pregnant and am so happy, but it makes me want to be nearer my mum. Will we be able to move back?
My mum keeps your columns for me as I enjoy them so much.
A: Your husband’s job looks quite well-paid and the cards show he is in quite a specialized field.
It would be very hard for him to find work just now in the Lanarkshire area.
So, I have to be blunt and say that where you are is best at the moment.
It is time to get your mum a bit more technically savvy with things like Skype to keep you both communicating more. This would really help.
You will miss your mum but I do see you having a lovely baby who will be no bother at all.
Try to make the most of the pregnancy to make new friendships with women in your new area.
I see a lovely new friend for you and even the idea for a wee business that would make you feel enthusiastic.
Soon, you will start your own wee family and life will take on a different feel.
It will be easier to see that moving north has been a really good choice.
Maybe, in years to come, you could persuade your mum to move towards you.
