WORKERS at Virgin Media in Bellshill helped spread some festive cheer by creating Christmas hampers for local elderly residents.
The team was spurred into action by colleague Mary Laurie, who arranged for the collection to be donated to the council’s social work department for distribution.
Mary’s mother was cared for by members of the department before passing away last year, and she thought it would be a fitting gesture to donate hampers to other elderly people in the community.
After setting a target of 20 hampers, the team were delighted to more than double this to 43 after word spread to fellow workers in centres in Edinburgh and Newcastle who helped out.
The Virgin team would like to thank everyone who supported their efforts.
