The patter of tiny feet - scores of them - will be helping to raise a small fortune for Save the Children at an ambitious fundraiser in Holytown.
Babyballet Motherwell is teaming up with other local dance schools to stage a five-hour Ultimate Danceathon in Holytown Parish Church Hall on October 13.
Grown-ups are welcome to take part too, but children will be the stars of the event, running from noon till 5pm.
Cash raised will help key charity Save the Children in their ongoing battle to help children - for example refugees from war-torn Syria - to survive their first five years.
Event organiser Charlotte Martin of Babyballet Motherwell said: “Five hours is a long time to keep dancing, but this promises to be a fantastic day, and the money we raise will help children in the toughest parts of the world.”
Save the Children fundraising executive Anna Bidmead said: “We are so grateful to everyone taking part in The Ultimate Danceathon this year.
“Save the Children is working hard to change the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children so every penny raised makes a huge difference.
“All of our incredible dancers should feel proud that they are making this life-saving work possible.”
Every year, 6.9 million children under five die from easily preventable causes like pneumonia and diarrhoea. Save the Children is working to stop this happening and to ensure more children live to celebrate their fifth birthday and beyond, no matter where they live.
