THE staff and members at Curves in Motherwell held a strawberry tea to raise funds for women affected by breast cancer.

Tea, coffee, cakes and home made jam were available at the event in Orbiston Street with over £223 being raised for Breast Cancer Care (Scotland). Breast Cancer Care is a UK based charity which aims to ensure that every person affected by breast cancer gets the best information, treatment and support.

The very successful event was organized by Liz Mackay, a Curves member and breast cancer survivor.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted by the generosity and response from the Curves members.

“This money raised will ensure Breast Cancer Care can reach more people across Scotland who need help and support.

“I would like to thank the staff and members for their support in making this event a success.”
