Changes for Church of Scotland congregations

NEWARTHILL and Carfin Parish Churches have united, bringing an end to over 200 years of public worship at Carfin.

The decision to join the churches was taken by Hamilton Presbytery after a period of consultation, with the congregation now known as Newarthill and Carfin Parish Church of Scotland.

Meanwhile, Crosshill and St Margaret’s Churches in Motherwell have been linked. Rev Gavin Black became minister to both charges at a service of linkage as the Times went to press.
